Demand that Fox News apologize to Pagans and Wiccans

Victory-ribbon

The apology was made! I believe it was sincere, and I am pleased that our efforts went with a message. I thank you, Tucker Carlson, for doing this small task. You have regained some respect in my book. Thank you everyone for your signatures and support. Please view the apology video HERE

On February 17, 2013, You decided to make fun of a federally recognized religion, and present inaccurate information as "facts" concerning the religions of Paganism and Wicca. This was extremely infuriating, and hurtful to our community. Your disrespect was very uncalled for and in return, we would like a on-air broadcast of you sincerely apologizing for insulting us, and correcting your mistakes to what is factual about these religions.

Thank you in advanced for your cooperation,

Pagans, nationwide were very insulted and hurt by the words Fox News had to say about our religion this past Sunday. Fox News reporters Tucker Carlson and Terry Bruce ridiculed Paganism, it's followers, and provided false information about the religion. Respect was not one of the qualities shown by the journalists of Fox and Friends. They acted in a very jokingly manner, bringing all of their professionalism to a halt.

I hope this touches people of all faiths, and that we can all understand how discriminatory the Fox News reporters were with their language and actions. To the pagan community these words were extremely humiliating and insulting. To judge someone by their beliefs is not right, any way you look at it. Freedom of religion is the right to believe in what ever you choose. To discriminate against a person who walks a different path is hurtful, and we would like an apology.
No one should have to be attacked like this, or in any other form. Put yourself in our shoes and ask yourself "How would I feel if someone mocked my religion?".

  1. Update #9

This is probably the last update for this petition, so there are a few more things I would like to say.
I am proud to have started this petition, and am very thankful for all of you who sent me supportive emails. If I could do something for you all that signed, believe me I would.
As this petition comes to an end, there is a bigger picture at hand. This probably will not be the last time the media attacks religion.

That's why I decided to make a new Facebook page to help 'keep an eye out' for this kind of thing. So if it happens again, we can give them a good ol' 'one-two'.
Here is a link to the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/thepaganeyes
Once again I thank you, and wish you all the best. I plan to download the signatures of the petition and send it directly to fox news, and possibly Tucker Carlson himself, just as a final message.
Well, thats all I have to say.
    Love and Light,
    Felix Wolfe

The #factorcrew aka The O'Reilly show was pretty positive when they discussed our religion. Just goes to show strength really comes in numbers.

  4. Update #6

I have received news concerning Fox News's movements.
I have not confirmed this, but apparently O'reilly is doing a segment about Paganism tonight. I don't know of a exact time so please check your listings. I would assume it be about 8 o'clock, but you can't be too sure.
I have also received information saying that Fox News is going to issue an apology on February 23rd, in the morning between 6a and 10a.
I can not confirm this, but I will be watching, and hope you will too.
    Lets hope they don't...

I have found and read Tucker Carlson's insincere apology on twitter. This is nothing but damage control. Light will still be brought upon the situation until an on-air, SINCERE apology is made, with corrections to their lies and exaggerations.

To make this clear, This petition carries NO legal weight. What it does carry, is a bad reputation, and lots of bad publicity for Fox News.
The more aware the general public is of this matter,
The more power is packed in this punch.
Even if Fox makes no attempt to apologize or correct their mistakes, this petition will still be in place as a reminder to them that they should think twice before opening their moth agains us.
This is not a End-Speech. The fight is continuing on. We are still...
