LEJ addresses the ecological and health concerns of Bayview Hunters Point and the surrounding communities of southeast SF. Our mission is to foster an understanding of the principles of environmental justice and urban sustainability in our young people in order to promote the long-term health of their communities.

Heron's Head Park is one of 24 sites for the 11th Annual Be the Change Day sponsored by Hands on Bay Area. This is one of the Bay Area’s largest days of volunteering with an expected 1,200+ participants.

When: Sat. Oct. 3, 2009 9 am to 12 pm
What: Habitat Restoration
Where: Heron's Head Park

Dress: Long pants, closed toed shoes, and layers. Tools and gloves provided.
