About Hekima Place: A Place of Wisdom

Hekima Place strives to house, feed, educate, and love HIV/AIDS orphaned Kenyan children who would otherwise struggle to survive on the streets or in the slums.

The statistics are overwhelming: just 65% of Kenyan girls enroll in elementary school. 30% enroll in high school. A young Kenyan girl orphaned by HIV/AIDS has little hope for education. Without education, her future is likely to be out on the streets or in the slums.

But ‘Hekima Place’ (meaning wisdom) is a Kenyan boarding school founded in 2005 that is a beacon of hope to these children. Girls orphaned by HIV/AIDS find a stable home environment at Hekima Place and opportunities to attend elementary and secondary grades. They are given the opportunity to mature and learn in a place of safety, comfort and love.

Our Vision
Hekima Place is dedicated to championing the dignity of HIV/AIDS orphaned Kenyan children, improving their quality of life through; improved educational opportunities, improved access to clinical and psychological care, and an improved home environment. Hekima place provides a setting where the girls are welcomed and loved, and able to embrace opportunities necessary to realize their potential.

Our Mission
The mission of Hekima Place is to serve the human needs of HIV/AIDS orphaned Kenyan children with excellence, professionalism, integrity and compassion within a stable home environment for children in elementary and secondary grades. Our girls will be provided with a place of safety, comfort and love while they learn and mature.
