As a community impact organization and steward of philanthropic dollars, UWBA provides the critical link between people who care and the community programs that make a positive impact on the lives of Bay Area families. Our intimate understanding of the community helps us build lasting partnerships in the area. Since our inception in 1922, we have directed hundreds of millions of dollars to support programs which build literacy skills for lifelong success, connect individuals and families to affordable healthcare, strengthen community services for safer neighborhoods and increase opportunities for working families. Thousands of people have been touched by funds raised by UWBA. Each year, a growing number of new donors join us in funding the issues we support.
