Dedicated to providing preschool age children with cancer the opportunity to learn and socialize in a safe environment.
The Morgan Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to providing preschool age children who are undergoing treatment for cancer the opportunity to interact and socialize, in a safe environment that stimulates cognitive and social development. Children on chemotherapy treatment have a suppressed immune system, and could otherwise risk infection and serious illness by attending typical age appropriate preschool programs.
1. There are close to 200 children under the age of 5 diagnosed with cancer each year in the NY metropolitan area.
2. Children on chemotherapy have a suppressed immune system and cannot socialize with other children due to the risk of infections.
3. These children need a pre-kindergarten learning foundation and a sense of normalcy, as well as a distraction from treatment and pain.
