I attended the Immigration Reform for America forum in Phoenix and I have to say I was disappointed. I know Border Action Network is listed as group that endorses this campaign for Comprehensive Immigration Reform, but I think it is the wrong move. We are not looking far enough forward by joining a bandaid solution that allows many of the same practices and policies as before. I only hope more and more people will give this plan the criticism it deserves and demand more from it. Don't let them tell us what principles we need to sacrifice to win, because some principles are just not worth sacrificing. We do need to look to the future but don't stop at one or two years ahead, look further into the future and see what kind of system this plan would create. The reality is that this plan would be no better and perhaps even worse than our current plan and would seek to marginalize people and groups that are fighting passionately for immigrant rights in the process, which makes things even worse. The Declaration of Independence of the Thirteen Colonies: July 4th, 1776 states-We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
This is the law and anyone who trys to harm any immigrant in anyway are not following the law written by the founding fathers of this country. They will argue against them calling them names such as illegal, expired etc. etc. but their actions are clearly not patriotic because they are not honouring the declaration of independence. They are trying to alter the meaning of the United States of America to fit into something that suits and benefits themselves to justify greed, but this way of thinking has not changed America for the better instead it has driven us away from the true meaning of what it is like to be a real American. They will make you believe there is a real America and a false America and the original principals of our country they wish to burry by trying to question your faith in god and country but they are a group that are exposed for who they are and their evil hateful intentions.
I do believe there is a great chance that we might see an immigration reform bill under the Obama adminitration shortly and Im hopeing the movement gets rolling again shortly in a few months after the stimulus and banking packages pass. It seems like the majority of Americans are pro-immigrant. There are a few groups of nutty people out there but I believe for the most part very few Ameriicans are going to listen to them anymore. Americans are feed up with those groups out there. They are the reason why are country had declined in patriotism in the last 8 years and thank-god that Obama brought faith and hope back to our spirits.They also try to use God as a way to manipulate votes and to segregate people into hate groups. Americans are much wiser these days. They will not tolerate anyone who questions their faith because they are compassionate when it comes to people and certain issues. I have faith in our country and its people. As America evolves its people have always historically defended human rights. Remember those sacred words inscribed at the base of the statue of Liberty.
