Updated: The cause has reached 4,000 members.
To those who do not know, the Catholic Church does NOT teach that all catholics go to heaven. On the contrary, Jesus said the gate is narrow that leads to heaven and wide is the road that leads to perdition. Say what you will, but the Catholic faith is the ONLY religion founded by Jesus Christ and it will last until the end of time. Regardless of how many new religions are formed ( by man) the only real path to eternal salvation is through the Catholic faith. Are there problems in the Church? Absolutely! But that doesn't diminish the truth. Everybody talks about rights these days- the right to do this or that-but what you all seem to be missing is your true right. That is the right to the TRUTH. And the only place you will find the TRUTH is in the Catholic Church.
Updated: The cause has raised $50.

Subject: U of C Bullies Students in a Battle for Freedom of Speech
Hello friends,
I urge you to spread the word about this, and do so a.s.a.p.
In light of the University of Calgary receiving the vast majority of its funding from taxpayers, it's outrageous that it now claims to be a "private" institution with an unrestricted right to censor views on campus with which it disagrees.
On its web site, the University boasts a budget of $878 million dollars. On the "donate" section of the university's web site, it states that it received $82 million in donations. Sounds like 90% of its funding comes from taxpayers.
Taxpayers should be outraged that the the University is disregarding the very reason why it receives our money in the first place: to be a forum where ALL views can be expressed peacefully, without censorship or other forms of intimidation (like the University threatening its own students with arrest for "trespassing" on the campus where they are entitled to be).
If you live in Alberta, call your MLA as soon as possible (the display is this Wednesday November 26, so call Monday) and urge her/him to speak with the Minister responsible for universities (Doug Horner).
And a call to the U. of C. President Harvey Weingarten (403-220-5460 or an e-mail to president@ucalgary.ca) would be very helpful for the cause of free speech at this hour.
Your MLA could (and should!) also place a call to President Weingarten.
John

The event always led to a lot of great discussions and debates which is what a university campus should always welcome.

This year the University has demanded that Campus Pro-Life "turn the signs inwards" or else we will face fines, arrest and charges of non academic misconduct possibly leading to expulsion (not to mention the de-sanctioning of our club). We will not compromise the integrity of our display by giving into censorship and allow the University to bully us into hiding our message.

The third position says that we should support our troops, it does not say we should support war. We should always be searching for a way in which to bring peace into the world, into our homes, and into our hearts. Whether you believe that a certain war is just or unjust, it should be our goal to honor our troops through training, conditioning, medical care & counseling, personal gratitude and of course, peace talks. It has never been more important to reach out to others. We are so myopic and selfish, when will we see our place in this world as instruments of peace?

The I as me am Christian Roman Catholic and I believe what I want to believe
it is peace in the world I go for because to me this is important without this in
our minds I believe that christianity would not exist but through the life I want
christianity to exist always because its our way of living of life

The third position of this cause seems rather strange. Aren't our troops supposed to protect us? Aren't they supposed to save our lives? I will grant that we should honor them. No matter what our position is on particular wars we should always support our troops. That is not happening these days. Controversies arise over wars like Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan and our troops are left in the lurch. Often they suffer and even die as a result of adverse public opinion on the war they are fighting and consequent government action or inaction which cuts their legs out from under them. I do believe that we shouldn't send our troops into war unnecessarily or poorly equipped or trained, but even if we do we need to support them all the way, whether we like the war they are in or not, until they come home. At the same time we have to realize that sometimes the only peace to be had in this world, besides the peace of Christ within, can only be found on the other side of war. When duty calls we should not hesitate to send our troops into harms way than they should hesitate to go for us.

Hi, I am from Costa Rica, a country without army; but I am directly affected by war since my boyfriend is an US Army Sgt and soon will be deployed to Afghanistan.
We need all your prayers to receive God's peace in our hearts and trust God that him and his soldiers will come back home safe.

I recently started a FB group to help explain what Catholics do believe. I hope many of you will consider joining me in using it as a tool to promote this cause and enlighten people about our beautiful faith.
