thansk to everyone who came out for our 1st World AIDS Day bike drive! We collected over 60 bikes (despite the miserable weather), took in over $1200 of donations and clothing sales, and spread lots of awareness about the organization.
The bikes will be heading to Malawi in the spring to be distributed to HIV/AIDS workers.
Visit http://www.bikeswithoutborders.org for future events!

Hi Chrissy:
We're working on getting local storage places organized to store bikes. Once we have enough bikes at various local communities to fill a shipping container (about 400), then we can go around and pick up all the bikes and ship them.
Any thoughts on a local storage place in Milton for bikes? If you're interested in getting a local chapter started I can send you some more information. I have a great local designer working on a brochure and some posters which I can send you.
Mike

Hi Heather:
thanks for the kind words. For the donation button, we need to register, and to register we need to be registered charity. We have our non-profit status, but our charitable status is still pending application, so that will be a while. I'm setting up a Paypal donation site soon... will keep you posted!
Great to see you both at the shower. You should come visit little Elsie sometime soon. :)

Mike, How do we get you bikes if we have people who wish to donate their bikes?

Mike,
So glad to see your "Bikes Without Borders" Cause on facebook!!! really liked that clip that you posted on the http://www.bikeswithoutborders.org website! Would love to see some others when you're not buried in bikes... and diapers.
(PS - The donation thingy doesn't seem to be working... I keep getting error messages that tells me to try again later. Has anyone else noted this?)

Welcome everyone to the Bikes Without Borders cause! Bikes Without Borders is my non-profit organization dedicated to improving people's lives through bikes. Based in Toronto, BWB is a newly-registered Canadian non-profit organization.
Some of our programs will include providing bikes to communities in need in the developing world, bike programs and employment for youth-at-risk in Canada, and more!
We will be hosting a number of fun events this summer, in the Toronto area. If you are interested in getting involved, please let me know. If you are not in the Toronto area and want to start a local chapter in your community, also let me know.
Please make the pledge to invite 100 people to the cause. By the power of 'six degrees of separation,' the whole world can get involved and make this planet a bike-friendly, people-friendly place to live.
Visit http://www.bikeswithoutborders.org for more information.

We started an online music store, which allows charities to raise money with digital music. It's free for any group and we are trying to get the word out. fundtunes.com is the site.
