Hello-I went through the St. Anthonys recovery program 3 times(the farm in Petaluma and Covenant House in San Francisco) in 1988,1990 and 1992. If anybody went through this program around this time, please contact me on facebook. I'm living in Portland Oregon right now. Been sober for 8 years now! Would love to get back in contact with some of these people again!

It's a great day to show your gratitude for your sobriety; if you can spare a few dollars these guys will put it to good use! A couple of dear friends started their new lives here, and I'm grateful to have them all in my life.

Curbside Donation Drive

This weekend we kicked off our curbside donation drive and had a great response, including more than 3,000 lbs of turkey - BUT WE NEED ANOTHER 1,000 POUNDS before Tuesday night! If you are longing to feel the "thanks" in Thanksgiving, dropping off a turkey before Thanksgiving will garner you lots of thanks from St. Anthony's. And its easy! During Thanksgiving and Christmas week, drive up to 119 Golden Gate (between Leavenworth and Jones) and pull over. Volunteers will unload your donations and give you a receipt-Easy! (Donations of canned and dried foods, clean and gently worn clothing, and packages of brand new socks and underwear are greatly needed and appreciated as well).

Here's another easy thing to do that might help St. Anthony Foundation. JP Morgan Chase is giving away $5,000,000. As a Facebook user, you get to vote for which charities get the money. You get up to 20 votes this round, so you can vote for other charities, too, but only one vote can be for St. Anthony Foundation. Not a Facebook member? Maybe this would be a good reason to join.

While some attended parades or took a day off to honor veterans, many veterans themselves spent Veterans Day struggling to secure food and housing. On Wednesday, November 11, representatives from Swords to Plowshares, the Veterans Health Administration, and St. Anthony Foundation reached out to homeless vets who were in need of support and assistance.
