Yes Mark... and Chihuahuas are much more likely to attack unprovoked. Should we ban them as well? Let's keep in mind that when smaller dogs of any kind attack, they rarely get reported. When a large dog or one labeled as a PDA attacks, everyone jumps to add to the stat line.

According to the CDC 67% of all canine attacks in the US are from Pit Bulls and Rotweillers.

Do you think these two breeds make up 67% of the dog population in the US ??

Just the kind of dogs that people of limited intelligence and even less information would support.

how do i stop the abuse. i am shocked at the torture that animals r put through. i love my pit he is my best friend. and it kills me inside to see these defenceless puppys ttreated in such a way. just knowig that there r hundreds of animals being abused right now. makes me feel so helpless

There the greatest family dog ive seen. I love my pitbulls like they were my children. Onyx and Cashis are ther names and there the best, my daughter plays with them all day. They love everyone. I just hate how you can't even take them into public without someone being scared. I've had parents pick there kids up just to walk by. Pitbulls are here to stay, as long as we punish the people, not the dogs.

im typing this through tears! i own a full blooded pitt and two pitt mixed dog's. i only know the loving big baby side of the breed and im bawling over these videos! all those who fight any dog or are cruel to any animal should be .... well more than just fined or jailed!!!!! the story of the little girl and the snake should be re-relased to the media to help bring awareness!!

My babies name is Nicoli and he is my world. Anyone that says its the breed is wrong. He is a beautiful red nose and such a lap dog at that. Grant you if he hears something outside the barks to let what ever it may be know that hey Im here and Im going to protect my mom. You can tell he is a pitt if you know the breed. But those that dont I run in to all the time at pet supermarket and they bend down and pet him and say he is so nice and when they ask what he is and I tell them, 90% of the time they are shocked. The first thing I say after that is its all in how they are raised. He was about 2-3mos old when I got him and skin and bones. Within 2mos everyone saw he was now in a good home. He is now just over a year and some where between 80 and 85lbs....But again the biggest lap dog you will ever find. For anyone reading this that agrees with the ban. YOU ARE WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!! Punish the ones that do it to the dog not the dog its self. Would you blame a child for being abused? Then why blame an animal? Same principal, they are our children, love is all they need not to be trained to be mean. Their love will protect you if need be. You give love they will give love.

I don't know what I would do if anything ever happened to my Pit. HHe is the best dog I have ever had. He is not only my dog, he's my best friend. My children adore him. My kitten is only 5 lbs, & my pit is 85 lbs. He is so good with my kitten. It is all in how animals are raised. If they are treated as nothing but a money maker, or live in an abusive home, of course they are going to be mean. Wouldn't any human being be if they were mistreated? People make me sick when they are scared of Pits. I would like to say to all that want to terminate these dogs, Please just look into these animals eyes. If you participate in banning these animals, you are just as bad as the ones giving them a bad rep. Actually, WORSE!!!

A little girl was playing in her backyard. she was only about 6 years old. she was setting up a tea party with her dolls. her mom was inside the house cleaning and watching from the window. 3 blocks away was a house where a retired pit fighter lived. he was large and muscular with scars from the fights. every now and then he would escape the backyard by jumping on top of the grill and jumping over the fence and today he did so. the pitbull walked 3 blocks and saw the little girl in the backyard through the door in the fence that was open. she was giggling and having fun with her dolls so she didnt notice the large dog walking towards the yard. He began to charge towards the little girl. the mother saw from the window but had no time to react, she screamed. the little girl turned just in time to see the large animal for a split second before he jumped over her. he didnt attack the girl. what he went for was a large poisonous snake that was only a few feet from the girl. he grabbed the snake in his powerful jaws and shook violently until he was convinced it had died. sadly he was bitten by the snake. the mother ran out of the house to get the little girl who was on the ground crying. when she picked up her daughter she turned to the dog as he proudly stood over the dead snake. she hugged the dog as tears rolled from her eyes thanking him for saving the little girl. moments later he collapsed. he died days later in the animal hospital from the snake bite. (years later) a woman pulls up to a park on a sunny day, takes her son out of the car and walks up a nearby hill to where a large tree is. when they reach the tree she places her son on the ground in the shade. she walks to the other side of the tree where a photo had been placed in a small monument. In the photo there is a small girl holding a large muscular dog, an american pitbull terrier that had scars from fights over his body. the woman begins to cry. she didnt cry because she knew the little girl. she cried because she was the little girl. the little girl whos life had been saved by a dog that she had never known before. a dog that she would always remember. she placed a flower next to the picture, picked up her son and walked back down to the hill. as they reached the car barking could be heard, happy, excited barking. as she opens the car door they are greated by 2 large beautiful dogs that looked very similar to the one who saved her. the woman had 2 puppies from the great dogs litter and kept them with her no matter where she went.

American Pitbull Terriers are not vicious killers. they dont attack random people. they are kind, loving, and helpful creatures. im a volunteer at a local animal shelter and everytime someone comes looking for a dog i make it my mission to get every one of the pitbulls seen. i show the people that their playful and loving animals and they need good homes with loving families. ive had great experience with pitbulls my entire life and i wouldnt recomend any other breed to anybody. I love pitbulls and i believe that everyone should have the chance to be with one.

I have nearly been attacked by a pitbull three times, and still although i am edgy of them now I would never ever approve of banning them or any dog. Training is needed for the dogs and their owners and it never the breed its the deed that is punishable,and in many cases the fact is that the ownwer of the individual dog spends no time with it. All animals a capable of attack, there is always a reason, we have to look for thatreason and not blame a particular breed.

You know, the nick-name for pit bulls is actually "nanny dog", so Melissa, I guess the pit bulls...excuse me nanny dogs in our respective families are actually the RULE rather than the exception. Also, did our government forget that nanny dogs saved American asses during BOTH world wars and now those ingrates want a friggin ban??!! People certainly do forget things like this whilst in search of a scapegoat for their own many, many faults in rearing thier animals.

i definatley agree it is how the dog is raised .. i have had a few pits and they were great dogs! they were just as good as my labs! u have to teach ur dogs whats right and wrong just like your children ... now my pit i have today his name is kilo, and i absolutely have no idea what i would do without him .. he is my best friend, goes everywhere with me and my husband .. although he is only a lil over a yr he is quit big and lots of people are scared of him at first ... but he absolutely loves everyone!!! and the other pit i use to have was the same way ... these dumb ass people are raising these dogs and loving them in the beginning and then just throwing them outside on a chain or in a pin and not showing them any attention or love ... and then they want to say "o its the blood line .. its the pit in them" when something happens! i just dont get it!!! i keep a close eye on kilo at all times bc im soo scared if we were in my yard and the neighbor was over and hit him or somthin and he retaliated they would try to take him .. what dog wouldn't help himself or his owner in that matter! and its a shame we have to worry soo much about our dogs protecting themselves and us because of all the fools in this world who just need something to talk about and some drama in their own boring ass lives!
