Stop global injustice
Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is situated in the heart of Africa (Central Africa) and we know that a heart gives life. Yet this nation has been divested by civil war for many years. Petition prayers have been made towards this nation. In December we had an opportunity to go there with a message of hope. This came about when one young man from DRC, Pappy who flee from his home country because of war felt led to take a team there to encourage his people.
The focus of our ministry was raped women and child solders.
We worked with widows, many of them their husbands died during the war. We interviewed one lady who witnessed her husband and son being bushed to death. She managed to escape. This happened many years ago but the memories are still so fresh because she did not have time to bury her loved ones.
We visited a hospital were there are taking care of raped women. Every one in that hospital had experienced hard life. One story that touched me was of this woman, who had just gave birth and the rebels attacked them, she beggaged if they could spare her because she just had a baby. They ordered for the baby, killed the baby and raped her.
Pappy visited one village that is severely affected by the rebels and witchcraft. Every woman in that village from the age of 12 year some younger has been raped more that five times. Sometimes these rebels come and get these girls and stay with them, when they get pregnant they send them away. They are so many children around without fathers. Terrible things have been done to these women, that they lost their dignity, value and left them with no reason to leave. We did a lot of counseling and gave them the message of hope.
