Ya'll it is such an honor to be a court appointed special advocate for children. Please give. Some of the kids in foster care don't have hangers to hang their clothes on . It is seriously underfunded.
I've started the process to becoming a Child Advocate and want to spread the word. It only takes a few hours a month and you will make a HUGE difference in the life of an abused or neglected child.

Thanks to everyone who came to the Child Advocate Spring Social! It was a great success and we hope you had a wonderful time!
Hi everyone! Don't forget to RSVP today for the Spring Social in Cupertino! It is from 6pm-8pm at the Cypress Hotel! Email me at Sam@cadvocates.org to reserve yours and a friend's spot!
Child Advocates' 21st annual gala, is taking place on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Santa Clara Marriott hotel. The event features a performance by renowned guitarist Mimi Fox, along with fine wine tasting, dinner, and fabulous auction items. Local sports commentator Mitch Juricich will serve as emcee and auctioneer.
The gala is our largest fundraising event of the year, drawing 400 guests from around the Bay Area to partake in an evening of dinner, auctions and music. An event this large needs the help of many volunteers to make it successful.
If you, someone you know, or a group of you and your friends would like to volunteer at this year's gala, please reply to this email. We have many opportunities available through out the day that will allow you to be a part of the Child Advocates Gala team.
When replying, it would be most helpful if you could tell me what shift you would like and any specific task that appeals to you. You are more than welcome to sign up for multiple shifts.
Setup Shift #1 (10:00am to 2:00pm), approximately 20 people needed
Volunteers helping out in this shift will be assisting in getting the ballroom and ancillary areas ready for the evening's event. This will involve considerable standing time, and may require some light lifting. Tasks will include setting up Silent Auction tables, putting up décor and signage, and working on centerpieces. Some help with transporting items to the hotel from the parking lot may also be needed. A light lunch will be served. Comfortable clothes and shoes are recommended. Experience in decorating and/or event planning is a plus!
Setup Shift #2 (2:00pm to 6:00pm), approximately 2 people needed
Volunteers helping out in this shift will finalize the decorations for the ballroom and ancillary areas and maintain a presence in the silent auction area until guests arrive.
Evening Shift #1 (5:00pm - 8:00pm), approximately 15 people needed
Dinner will be provided. Volunteer opportunities for the first evening shift include:
" Silent Auction (10)
" Coat Check (2)
" Recorder/Dispatcher (3)
Evening Shift #2 (7:00pm - 11:00pm), approximately 40 people needed
Snacks and refreshments will be served. Volunteer opportunities for the second evening shift include:
" Live Auction Spotter - (2)
" Live Auction Recorder - (2)
" Live Auction Runner - (4)
" Raise the Paddle Spotter - (10)
" Cashier - (3)
" Silent Auction Runner (3)
" Auction Item Pickup - (5)
" Coat Check (2)
" Clean Up (15)
We hope that you can join us for the evening, either as a volunteer or as a guest (reserved seats are available at $175). If you have any questions about the gala, please feel free to contact me. And, as always, thank you so much for all that you do for Child Advocates and the children we serve. You are all truly amazing!
Thank You, Sam Hamilton, sam@cadvocates.org, or 408-573-5665
