Kidpower is partnering with the film professionals at Storytellers For Good to create a professional video that will tell our stories and inspire people all over the world to share and use vital Kidpower skills as a kickoff component for our "One Million Safer Kids" Initiative.

The film will share the stories of people like Kidpower founder, Irene, who protected a group of children, including her own, in a large public bus station from a man who was threatening to kidnap them; 14-year-old Christie, who learned how to set boundaries in a Kidpower workshop and used them effectively when a neighbor began to harass her; Five-year-old Joey and his parents, who had practiced their safety plan and knew what to do when Joey got lost in a store; Eight-year old Sara who knew how to get help and advocate for herself when she was being bullied at school, and many more.

A world with One Million Safer Kids is a better world for all of us, not just the million we will help directly with this initiative. It's a world with more joyful playgrounds, classrooms, and neighborhoods. It's a world with safer interactions between children and strangers in parks, stores, and other public places. It's a world with more relationships strengthened by strong boundary setting skills. It's a world with less trauma and injury. It's a world with one million young people using and strengthening advocacy skills to help themselves and others — skills they can develop and use for decades to come not just in school but in relationships, in work, in play, in politics, and in parenting others.
