The Global Vote Project is an interactive, dynamic website designed to spark cross-cultural, citizen-to-citizen dialogue, fostering better understanding between Americans and citizens of other countries. Here, you can cast a symbolic vote for the next President of the United States, participate in online discussion forums, and voice your opinion through online polls, while learning about civic engagement, the American electoral process and democracy. By leveraging the unprecedented levels of international interest in the 2008 U.S. Presidential election, the exponential increase in internet usage around the world and the online social networking craze, we have aimed to create a website that will attract everyday people from around the world who don’t normally have a reason or opportunity to talk to each other, so that they can better understand, and learn from each other.
