National Center for Fathering
$395 raised from 25 causes

Donations go to:

National Center for Fathering (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit)

The National Center for Fathering was founded in 1990 by Dr. Ken Canfield to promote responsible and involved fatherhood. Many fathers have been cut off from traditional sources of learning how to be fathers. NCF helps to fill this void by providing research-based seminars for fathers through a number of outlets: schools, faith communities, prisons, hospitals, community centers, and businesses. NCF also produces a daily radio program and publishes a free magazine for all types of fathers, including divorced fathers, stepfathers, and grandfathers.

I am a father of four boys, and one little girl.I went through hell and back a couple of times, through all of the court system when my 10 year old son and 8 year old daughter.they were being abused and left alone. It took two child abuse charges against there mother and me calling every day before the court would even hear what i had to say.To make a long story short I have sole legal custody of them and they are doing so much better. They realy need to make things diffrent because if she wouldnt have beat them so bad I would just be another deadbeat dad in the courts eyes. Its too bad that a mother has to do these things for us to even be considered. To all the fathers dont give up no matter what because i never thought i would have my babies home with me.

I'm a single custodial father of a 8 year old girl whom I've been raising alone for 7 1/2 years. I loved what Mr. Casey had to say on a radio interview.

The only thing I would like to lend my unsolicited 2 cents with is that there are many fathers out there who WANT to be involved but literally cannot because of a family court, welfare, CPS and domestic violence system which is way more corrupt and discriminatory than anyone could possibly imagine.

Much is made about the misconstrued dogma regarding "deadbeat/absent" dads, but the courts et al are the #1 creator of fatherless families. I went through tthe courts and won on my own....but have since seen hundreds of cases in which fathers attempted to see their children, but because of lawyer tactics/gamesmanship and a radical feminist agenda from the bench, fathers are ROUTINELY restrained from their kids with NO due process, and often no evidence and in many cases the mother may be on drugs or living with a felon, drug dealer or sex offender and she STILL gets custody.

What I am saying is NO exaggeration. When the courts place children with mothers 97% of the time, that in and of itself is discrimination when there are two genders equally litigating. Moreover, 60% of child abusers are mothers. So, the stats themselves don't jive with a child's best interest.

That is the short version. But, while Mr. Casey is sharing the factual and spiritual truths about the need for father involvement, I believe the ENTIRE story should be exposed for all the contributing factors which hinder father involvement. These systems are so entrenched in our society that nothing will ever change unless there is a national, ongoing, widely exposed movement for justice and an expose on the corruption of our court system and its judges and lawyers.

As you have become aware, we are fighting a battle for the rights of parents in our country to direct the upbringing of their children.

How am I being affected? Hi! My name is David and I'm my daughter's father. I was there when she was born and cut her umbilical cord. I have had a wonderful relationship with her until her mother decided and emphatically pledged to me that she would raise her without me on the day she turned 2 years old! Even though my name is on her birth certificate I have also obtained DNA results proving and establishing that I am the Biological Father of our daughter. My ex fiancée, Mother of our daughter, is refusing and interfering with my "legally presumed" father's right to see and be with my child, cutting off all contact with me and making false allegations.
