About FRATERNUS

Mentoring boys into virtuous Catholic men.

Building a Brotherhood

Changing the world one young man at a time means that some dedicated men are willing to step forward as mentors to boys age 11-18. Fraternus asks adult men in their parish or congregation, age 21 and up, to give their time and talent to live out their Baptismal call andshare their gifts and talents as fathers, mentors and leaders.

A Mission of Leadership

Fraternus was created in response to the effects of the epidemic of generations where fathers are not front and center in the lives of boys and young men. This ‘fatherlessness’ isn’t biological; it’s a lack of virtuous mentors who willingly accept a leadership role. Without virtuous examples of authentic and compassionate masculinity—a true need of every boy—young men often turn to the world’s distorted view of manhood focused on power, prestige and promiscuity.

Preparing You

Fraternus provides all the resources needed to prepare men to build a Brotherhood of Disciples in their parish or congregation. Subscribe to Fraternus to receive engaging program content, live training and online workshops, continual support and access to constantly-updated online
tools. We seek to provide the highest-quality programming for boys while catering to the busy schedule of the men who are the mentors.

An Action-oriented Approach

Fraternus is active, formative mentoring program that uses movie clips, activities and outdoor adventures to teach virtue, all in the context of mentorship and brotherhood. Fraternus draws boys into the heart of the Church by connecting discussions on virtue to the Sunday Mass readings. These lessons come to life during weekly meetings (Frat Nights), discipleship groups (HAWC), seasonal outings (Excursions) and a Summer Ranch where Chapters from around the
country gather.

Rooted in Virtue and Faithfulness

The masculine heart yearns for a challenging and formative brotherhood. Boys and men sometimes find it in sports and social groups, but rarely do young men find it in the Church.
Fraternus seeks to change this by building a brotherhood rooted in virtue, faithfulness to Church teachings and personal growth.
