Let me tell you about a friend of mine who lives in Jasper, GA. He is 67 years old, cerebral palsied, has a masters in rehabilitation counseling. He used to work for UCP of Akron and Summit County. He has worked for the state of Georgia completing assessments of work capabilities for an agency there in Jasper. In November he went to renew his drivers license. The woman who waited on him decided that he appeared to be unqualified to drive. He has been driving for many years with no issues. This woman flagged him and started a subsequent series of events that have caused him to receive a letter telling him that his license will be revoked on April 22nd even though his doctor has written two reports stating that he is capable of driving. Without his license his independent living will be ground to a halt. He will be unable to travel to retrieve groceries, medicine, or medical care. There was no cause for this woman’s decision other than her ignorance of cerebral palsy.
PLEASE, can you refer him to a good attorney in this field who might help him deal with the GA Dept. of Motor Vehicle licensing? His name is Paul Sneller and his email address is psneller@yahoo.com
