www.BrianDocumentary.com - In Dec. '07 we lost our friend Brian to Sarcoma.
Sarcoma is one of the most underfunded of all the cancers, yet it is one of the most deadly. Chemotherapy has proven not to be a viable treatment for many patients. In honor of Brian Reynolds, please consider donating to this fund to help those with Sarcoma find a cure.
Remember this is a Giving Challenge Cause. This means that there is a possible $50,000 prize donation for the Cause with the most unique donations from December 13 through February 1, 2008. Here is some information regarding the Giving Challenge:
Why a challenge?
The objective of the Giving Challenge is to introduce new ways of giving and connecting with others through your cause. A total of $250,000 will be given to the nonprofit beneficiaries of those causes who receive the most unique donations between 12:00 p.m. PST on December 13, 2007, and 12:00 p.m. PST on February 1, 2008. The breakdown of the awards is as follows:
* $50,000 to the cause with the most unique donors
* $25,000 to the next two causes with the most unique donors
* $10,000 to the next ten causes with the most unique donors
* $1,000 each day to the cause with the most unique donors that day
The Giving Challenge is not focused on how much money you can raise, but on how successful you are at building collective action to make a lasting impact. To succeed, the goal is to get as many unique donations to your charity as possible.
Who can participate?
Anyone with the passion and commitment to advocate on behalf of a cause they care about can take the Challenge. Participants will need to create a Giving Challenge Cause, following the simple steps to create a cause found here.
What charities are eligible to receive awards?
Only U.S.-based 501(c)3 charities listed in the JustGive database (supplied by GuideStar.org) are eligible as potential Challenge awardees. You may wish to review each site’s criteria for including charities in its database.
How do I know that my donation is secure?
Donation security is provided by Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), a recognized authentication and encryption software. In other words, the site becomes locked while you are giving us your credit card information and unlocks only when you leave the secured area, and your credit card number is "encrypted" so it is unreadable to anyone outside the transaction process.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Your donation to a charitable organization is 100% tax deductible. After donating you will receive an e-mail that acts as your receipt.
For U.S. nonprofits, your email receipt is valid for tax deduction purposes for any donation up to $250. For any donations above $250, the IRS requires a physical receipt, which will be sent by snail mail by JustGive.org to the address you provide while donating.
If I make a donation, will the organization be able to contact me or add me to their mailing list?
We value your privacy, so your personal information is never sold or given away to anyone, including the nonprofits you donate to. For more information please refer to the Project Agape privacy policy.
