Sarcoma is a rare and dangerous cancer of the connective tissues such as muscles, nerves and bones. About 15% of all children's cancers are sarcomas, and about 1% of all adult cancers are sarcomas. There are hundreds of thousands of patients and their families struggling with sarcoma world wide. But because sarcoma is rare, it receives much less research funding than other cancers.
The mission of the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative is to improve the quality of life for people dealing with sarcoma. The Initiative increases public awareness of sarcoma, raises funds to award research grants, and provides support and timely information to sarcoma patients, their families, and medical professionals. These efforts are achieved through collaboration with numerous individuals and organizations that share a similar vision.
At least 97% of the funds we receive will be used for peer-reviewed sarcoma research grants.

ABOUT DONATIONS:
The Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative is a small, dedicated organization. It is not a membership organization. Thus, there are no “chapters” or local meetings. Rather, people volunteer to help with one or more of our ongoing projects. We maintain an extremely low overhead of 2-3% per year. Thus, 97-98% of the funds we receive go directly to support sarcoma research.
There are several ways to donate! Visit our Contribute Page for more information:
