Hi all friends of WOM. Been busy with campaigning for help from outside bodies. We are looking into new contacts abroad and in particular with "Third World shops" who have a good reputation to collaborate with Organizations such as us all over the World.
As you may know WOM is producing all kinds of Handicrafts, notably Hand made baskets, Hand Woven Fabrics, Valuable natural creams from indigenous plants such as Shea nut trees, and others.
We welcome suggestions and participating members who are interested to collaborate with WOM on a sustainable base.
Come and join WOM for more interaction and get to know our daily lives, our activities.

Hi all,
Just returned from WOM in the north. People doing a great job there. Basket weaving, Kente weaving, Training Institutes for handicrafts; Workshop to explain their basic rights, etc. Real good work.
Sadly I was confronted with lots of new cases of displaced widows. One case in particular drew my attention. This middle aged widow in her forties was trashed by her brother in law badly, and her daughter in her twenties who is also pregnant was sent to the hospital as a result of the beatings. The case has been reported to the BOLGA police, the man is in custody, but will be released. To extract a medical certificate to prove to the court the beating took place, the doctors at the local BOLGA Ministry of Health outfit demand a payment of 200 USDollars. WOM is facing such cases on a daily base, sometimes worse.
Particularly sad as the young daughter is pregnant (possibly from rape by her new step dad - who is actually her uncle.
My friend Mounir who accompanied me on the trip was shocked when he saw - the first time - this never ending form of physical abuse.
The 'traditions' are blamed by the chiefs, who are asked to intervene to stop the abuse of Widows and Orphans.
With your help we can spread awareness, and one day we hope this all will stop, and the old 'traditions' will be revised.

The other day I held a Forum of discussions at a senior Highschool in China's Guangdong province.
When we came to speak about the misfortunes others have to endure, the Chinese students showed remorse and compassion.
They immediately wanted to know how to help. What they could do to help, they had no idea that such misery exists today.
All of them coming from well to do families, they displayed their concern and want to sign up to the cause.
Our own Folks are less enthusiastic. They don't bother much.
Less than 1 % have signed up.
As long as their own lives are in order, no one cares much.
This is the state humanity is in today.
Lets just hope that nothing ever will change in the lives of those
who don't give a hoot about others misfortunes.
We will keep the cause going and hope that - as time goes by - others would join.
Maybe the world will be a better one one day.
We won't give up the hope.

mill their own harvested rice.
we can expect this plant to be online within 3 months.
Preparations are underway to procure the machinery,
