Our mission is to provide physical, social, psychological and spiritual support to terminally-ill patients and their families when they have made the choice to spend their final days at home.

SANAD is an independent non-governmental organization established in January 2010 in an effort to fill a significant gap in the Lebanese healthcare system. Our focus is on maintaining the best possible quality of life for patients with terminal illness by preserving their dignity and relieving their suffering.
We strive to empower patients and their families to become skilled in their own care and allow them to make informed choices that are in line with their values and beliefs.
Our aim is to support any patient who would like to spend their final days in the comfort of their own home regardless of nationality, religion, gender, diagnosis, or their ability to pay.
To do this, SANAD will help set up the support structure necessary to allow the patient to remain at home. This includes the provision of the following services:
* Medical and nursing care to patients. This is carried out through regular home visits focused on assuring the best possible quality of end of life.
* Management of pain and other symptoms that cause physical discomfort or psychological distress.
* Psychological and social support to the patient and the family during the last stages of the patient's life.
* Training of family members and loved ones to become the primary care givers to the patient.
* Providing medical supplies and equipment as needed.
* Supporting the family during the entire bereavement process.
SANAD is committed to addressing challenges related to prevailing perceptions of end‐of‐life and palliative care in Lebanon. As part of its mission, SANAD will also focus on lobbying to remove existing barriers within the health care system that may affect the ability of individuals to access palliative care.
