Help Kids Tell Their Stories in 2012

This year, Streetside Stories helped more than 2,000 Bay Area kids tell their stories through writing, the arts and technology. Our students:

• Live in low-income families: 71% of our students are low-income.
• Are learning English: 33% of our students are English learners.
• Score below grade level on literacy tests: Nearly 60% struggle to read and write.

You can help us buy the supplies that our kids use to bring their stories to life. Your donation will purchase:

• Art supplies like colored pencils and paper
• Technology tools like microphones, video cameras, and editing software

Streetside's programs help kids gain crucial skills in writing, reading, speaking, the arts, and technology. Research has found that our students:

• Write and speak better
• Get higher scores on standardized reading and writing tests
• Participate more in class
• Feel closer to others

When students share their stories with Streetside, they see new possibilities for their lives.

Help our teaching artists get ready for their 2012 classes! Fill their traveling carts with exciting art and technology supplies.
