The Family Crisis Center attempts to meet the needs of crime victims in our local community as well as the surrounding rural areas. We focus our efforts on victims of family violence and sexual assault. In 2007, our local service area reported 1,587 incidents of family violence. There were 45 reported rapes during the same period of time. Recent data suggests that only a small percent of either crime is reported. In 2007, The Family Crisis Center provided some type of service to approximately 2,500 individuals. Through our Primary Prevention and Educational Programs, it is our goal to break the cycle that surrounds the crime of family violence towards women, men, and children.
