You like Wikipedia, right? Well, it runs on servers, and has about 30 paid people who keep it running. No money, no Wikipedia. And if you think about the cost of an encyclopedia set (several grand) you've totally gotten at least $10 of value out of the site in the years that it's been up. You've probably spent more money on paper and ink, printing the papers you made way better by your research on...Wikipedia.
