Promoting literacy and tolerance at home and abroad.
ICE is an all-volunteer charity dedicated to promoting literacy and tolerance through donations of cross-cultural books to disadvantaged children at home, and abroad. The books -- published by Hoopoe -- are high quality, full color illustrated stories chosen to promote skills in thinking as well as reading, which makes them doubly effective with such at-risk populations. The books we donate encourage or, in many cases, begin life-long reading habits among disadvantaged children aged 3 to 8.
To date, ICE has distributed free Hoopoe books to thousands of children in Canada, Afghanistan and Mexico.
