My son has allergies that can trigger allergic asthma and also anaphlactic shock. I learned of his allergies at after he turned 1. It has certainly raised my attention to all household products and food. Be aware everyone what you didnt know before can help in the long run!
My son has asthma, he is only 3 we knew he had allergy's since about one but they wanted to wait until he was 3 to test him, he ended up having a asthma attack and we had to rush him to the hospital, we have since learned a lot about inhalers and changing our environment, I now work at home with a company that has all ...green non toxin products, cleaners, gluten free, clinically proven lotion, wash, ec.t for eczema and a lot more for product info go to www.LiveTotalWellness.com/BHaste click "get more info." and convert your home as I have mine or for info on working from your home as I do go to www.TheMomHomeBiz.com
I was just diagnosed with asthma 9 months ago. I'm 30 years old, a non smoker my entire life so the diagnosis was a shock. I had sucha hard time adjusting to life with asthma. I have gotten it a little under control with hospital visits once every 4-5 months. I am grateful for the online support groups and information. I've learned alot and not felt so alone. I hope more research leads to better treatments for us and any future generations suffering from this.
I as well have been asthmatic all my life. I honestly did not know there were maintainence meds until I was 15. I dealt with only a rescue inhaler because my mother found it more "convenient" than giving me regular breathing treatments with a nebulizer. It was a living hell, and I have yet to forgive her. With the help of my pulmonologist, I'm currently on Singulair and rarely use my rescue inhaler. It's good to see a group raising awareness and support for asthma patients.
I have had asthma since birth and it was horrible when I was a child. In my teens and part of my adulthood, I have seem to controlled it somewhat. I have terrible times breathing when the changes of the seasons come along. Spring seems to be worse for me. I live in the Adirondack Mts. and I can't enjoy trying to climb the mts. due to my asthma. I'm in Karate once a week and that can be trying at times. I make sure I take my inhaler before I start any heavy activities. I also do a walk challenge every year in my home town and it's 3 miles long. I'm 40 and try not to let this take over my life. I'm on Singular, Flovent, and Proventil. I think that's too much meds to be on to breath, but it helps for now. I'm thankful though that my only son didn't get asthma like me.
I have been an asthmatic since I was 12. Lately I have been off of work due to a bad attack that has had me on prednisone 3 times a day and a nebulizer 4 times a day for 3 weeks.
i have been an asthmatic all my life and ever since i was born i have never really been able to have a normal life i have spent many years in and out of the hospital and doctors offices it's unreal my lungs are very weak and i have an extremley weak immune system i cant go out anywhere without getting sick i have been on so many steroids to strengthen my lungs all my life and i support this cause because i know the pain that asthmatics go through it's not easy it's an ongoing everyday struggle for me ... i have been on nebulizer treatments albuterol rescue inhalers and inhaled steroids it's rough but that's my asthma story....
I have had asthma for as long asI can remember. It lessesend in severity during my teen years and I did not have touse a nebulizer everyday. Unfortunately as I got into my late 20's it started to get bad and is now very severe. Because of the toll the asthma has taken on my lungs I also have sleep apnea and HBP.
I do not let this stop me though, I work out to P90X and Bob Harper video's I walk, bike and Swim which is my favorite. I tell people I control my asthma, my asthma does not control me.
i grew uo normally but i started to have allergy since 8 years; it got severe in the past few years until i started to have my frist 3 light asthma attacks 6 months ago. it is not very bad but i really felt that i belong to this place and i want to support this cause.

As a child I grew up with severe asthma attacks. During my teens it phased out. I'm in my late 40s now and over the past few years I have been suceptible to allergies, and sinus problems including asthma attacks. It is frustrating, because when you can't breath, nothing else seems to matter.
I grew up with asthma and did not "outgrow" it as they said I would. I never thought much of it because it was well controlled. Then my younger sister came along. When she was 10, she was life flighted to a hospital in Kansas City, MO. On the way there, she died, and they were able to resucitate her. She spent several weeks on life support and then once recovered was sent to the National Jewish Center for Asthma in Denver, CO. We learned so much when we were there. I now have a 10 year old son, who has been diagnosed with asthma. I worry and pray for him everyday because he lives with his father who refuses to admit or allow him to receive any treatment for asthma. I know all too well, what it feels like to struggle to breath, to cough and cough and cough thinking that it will help and it only makes it work. Please keep my son in your prayers, that his father's eyes will be opened and he will allow treatment or even better yet, that he will be returned to where he belongs. At home with Mom.
I HAVE HAD ASTHMA ALL MY LIFE. I HAVE TO TAKE MEDICINE ALL THE TIME. I TAKE MY MEDICINE WITH A NEBULIZER MACHINE. AND I ALSO TAKE ADVAIR 250-50 DISKUS.
