About The List Project to Resettle Iraqi Allies

After working for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Iraq in Baghdad and Fallujah, Kirk Johnson started to document the names and whereabouts of his former Iraqi colleagues who were now refugees.

Within weeks, his list had grown significantly: nearly 70% of the Iraqis he had worked with throughout 2005 were now in Syria, Jordan, U.A.E., and other countries.

Those Iraqis who aided the United States in its attempt to rebuild their country have become endangered refugees. They rejoiced at the toppling of Saddam, and signed up to help. Their belief in America has now made them the most hunted class in Iraq, where they flee routine death threats, abduction, assassination, torture, and extortion. Their faith in American democracy cost them their country. Now they need our help.

Here's how: http://netroots.thelistproject.org

1. Iraqis at risk, due to their affiliation with America, deserve our help.

2. America must help its allies if it ever expects to make any more in the future.
