Why add a buggy technology with often bad user experience, that often requires a mouse for mouseovers (can't do it with a finger, sorry) and content often designed (and I use that term loosely) for large screens? A Flash player for the iPhone is not a great idea. As for installing WIndows Vista on ever brand new Macintosh, I'm skipping right to Win 7, and running that in VMWare.
Avec CS5 sera possible de développer des applis Flash pour iPhone

working as volunteer dev for http://laptop.org and doing #Flash R&D on the OLPC XO-1 Laptop (which has about the same horsepower as a modern smartphone), I can now say Flash should NOT be on the iPhone. Many Flash sites will make the iPhone crash a lot as Flash has evolved so much from its roots and almost anything is possible on it.
As such, Adobe cannot release "Flash" on the iPhone as it will be misleading and especially disastrous if used embedded within a browser.
The winning combination would be to skip directly to Adobe AIR on the iPhone (which 1st requires getting Flash 10 running smoothly on it) and then treat "Flash on the iPhone" as a completely different animal: Adobe AIR, to avoid use confusion and prevent lawsuits for "false advertising" about flash as was slapped on Apple some time ago for claiming to bring the entire web experience into the palm of your hand.
Cheers!
P.S. AJAX is evil. Darn you you slow-load code-bloat cpu-hungry vomit monkeys!
What about us sub-500MHz users?!!! snf... snf...
The UK banned a TV ad where Apple claims to "completely surf the web",
though it doesn't support Flash or Java.

Dear Steve Jobs,
Dont close the iPhone standards and kill the success like you did with the mac. Open it up and let it become the most used mobile platform in the world! Stop with all this lock crap and set it free! And... give us a flash player and let us upload swf's without restrictions.
You got enough money you greedy prick!
Best,
DonTron :-D

Its all about restrictions and marketing. Whatever we say its just the profit from one or the profit from another. Flash on Iphone is nice, make a killer application and its also profit!
