To support the efforts helping San Antonio become a No Kill city.
The City of San Antonio, through a strategic plan adopted in 2006, committed to becoming a No Kill community for companion animals. “No Kill” means that healthy or treatable dogs and cats that end up in area shelters are not killed simply because there is no space for them.
In support of the San Antonio's Animal Care Stategic Plan to help save animal lives, the San Antonio Area Foundation created the "Animal No Kill Fund" that is designed to financially support local animal welfare agencies working on specific projects that are helping San Antonio reach it's No Kill Goals.
Such No Kill projects inlcude: providing more free or low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, pet adoption events, transferring shelter animals to animal rescue groups, and public responsible pet ownership education.
