Raise HIV/AIDS awareness among young people in the industrialised world Learn More
In our daily fashion lifes, where we care about what to wear, who's hot and what is not, we sometimes forget about things that really matter. STAYING ALIVE FOUNDATION INC (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit)
Dear Staying Alive Facebook Supporters!
Thank for your continued support and interest in the Staying Alive Foundation.
We wanted to let you know that MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation is participating in GlobalGiving’s American Open challenge, a fundraising opportunity for nonprofit organizations working in the United States.
Now through June 30, if Staying Alive can raise at least $4,000 from at least 50 donors, we will earn a permanent spot on www.GlobalGiving.com , the internationally recognized marketplace for philanthropy that connects individual donors to the causes they care most about. We really need your help! As little as 50 donations can help our Foundation make a huge difference in someone else’s life! This is your chance to save one or more young people, like you, from having to battle this deadly epidemic.
Every donation helps, and no donation is too small. You can make donations to the Staying Alive Foundation for as little as $25 and make an impact. In addition to helping us earn a spot on GlobalGiving, the organizations that raise the most money will earn a bonus $1,000-$3,000. The organization that recruits the most donors will earn an extra $3,000.
The Staying Alive Foundation is very excited about this opportunity and reaching a whole new network of donors to help our charity. Please help us achieve our goal of $4,000 from 50 donors by June 30 by making a donation to the Staying Alive Foundation on GlobalGiving. The link to our site is - http://www.globalgiving.com/proj... . Please share this with your friends and family and ask them to help too!
Thank you!

Last HIV/AIDS rates are scary. Let's keep the great cause alive!
You guys are all welcome in DAA.
And if you are still suspicious about how the disease is affecting the industrialised countries, just take a look to those figures:
* 40% of new HIV+ cases in Eastern Europe are among women; for instance, Ukraine has more than doubled its rates in just five years, so that now around half million people there live with HIV/AIDS.
* In The United States, more than 1 million people are living with the HIV virus and 8 in 10 new infections in women are related to unsafe sexual practices.
* Heterosexually acquired HIV infections form the largest proportion (5 out of 10 cases) of new infections in Western Europe, with the United Kingdom showing the largest rate: HIV infections doubled in the last five years to almost 10,000 newly infected people a year today.
* HIV infections among men who have sex with men doubled in Germany between 2002-2006 and increased by two thirds in Belgium during the same period.
* In the last couple of years new HIV cases attributed to injecting drugs (dirty needles) have declined almost worldwide -making unprotected sex now the most important way to get infected. Safe sex is more essential than ever!
