Help Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami Victims

A massive 8.9 magnitude earthquake hit Japan on Friday March 11, triggering a deadly tsunami and widespread devastation. The main quake was the largest to hit Japan in a hundred years and sent a wall of water inland across Japan's northeast coastline, devastating entire cities and triggering multiple nuclear crises. The New York Times reports that as of Monday March 14, "the disaster has left more than 10,000 people dead, many thousands homeless and millions without water, power, heat or transportation." Though the full extent of the damage will not be known for some time we know that it will be large and Japan will need international support to rebuild.

The American Red Cross helps countless individuals affected by disasters both in the U.S. and internationally. Donations will support our disaster relief efforts to help those affected by the earthquake in Japan and tsunami throughout the Pacific. Please help support their work by giving to where the need is greatest.

Please give what you can, share this cause with your friends, and check back for updates as we learn more. Thank you for your generosity.
