Heart disease and stroke affect every family, every age group and mine has been no acception. February is Heart month. Please keep it in your heart.
Hi I had heat surgury when I was 13. I was born with the bottom wall of my heart missing, and an ASD ( Atral Sceptal Defect) - a hole a bit bigger than a 50c peice. I am 31 now and I am having trouble with Angina, and Arrythmia. Constant numbness in left arm & hand.. sucks. I dont talk to people about it cause not wanting to be treated differently by my friends... so it nice to share with others that have had similar experiences.
I lost my Father a year ago in August to heart disease , hia arteries were so calcified nothing could be done for him , he also had Alzhiemers and if he 'd of had a by pass he could have came away from the surgery with 10 more years , but also with full blown Alzhiemers he elected not to have it , people do not understand the importance of the Heart & Stroke Foundation I however do I was 41 when I had my Heart Attack although I was lucky I'm now the proud owner of a bare metal stent in my Circumflex artery heart disease runs in my Family so now is the time to teach my children all of our Children our Future how to live Heart Healthy .............................

My Dad had a quadruple bypass when he was 43. After the surgery we had him for another 10 years, during which time his arteries became blocked again and we lost him at 53. But because of the miracle of this operation, we have 10 more years worth of memories with him
