Thanks so much Michael and AEC for all your good work! I am honored to be a member (in real life and on facebook that is). Thank you also for the Black Warrior Riverkeeper April 4th event shout-out! I am so glad Green Tie Affair went well. Liz and I had a commitment that night and were sad to miss it!
Hey everyone! I seem to be having trouble finding information about paint disposal in bham. I live in the Homewood area. Does anyone know where I can drop off cans of paint to be disposed of safely?
Glad I found you guys. I live in an apartment complex in Hoover. Hoover Public Works does not provide any sort of recycling service for people who live in apartment communities. Their reasoning is apartments are considered a business. In addition, they could not tell me where a recycling drop off location was located. I tried the Public Works at least three times, the Hoover library and one very nice police officer who tried his best to help. I am very upset that apartment dwellers in the City of Hoover do not have recycling opportunities. I honestly believe more people would recycle if given the opportunity.

A lot of people don't realize that there is recycling pickup at their house! Can someone please post the phone number to call to request a recycling bin? Thanks so much!

Today's New York Times features Black Warrior Riverkeeper's investigation of Alabama Biodiesel. Black Warrior Riverkeeper is very supportive of companies promoting renewable and sustainable energy, but these companies must be held accountable to pollution guidelines imposed on all other energy industries.
