Five Star, an Indiana based 501c3 non profit, inspires students to maximize their human potential. We accomplish this by helping students COMMIT and CONNECT. 1) COMMIT: Challenge students weekly to live according to our five core values. 2) CONNECT: Provide students the opportunity to build relationships with outstanding volunteer Five Star coaches. These coaches are given a team of 5-8 students for the school year. They teach and model how to live out the Five Star values in daily life.
Five Star accomplishes these two goals through three main activities: 1) 24 two-hour after school events held in the cafeteria 2) Leadership Day Trips to Manowe (our 270 acre ranch) 3) Service projects in the community
The ranch, located in Sturgis Michigan, is equipped with 10 horses, a fishing pond, a low ropes team building course, 120 acres of wetlands, lots of riding trails, a Splash Adventure swimming hole with a BLOB and Giant ICEBURG (Inflatable climbing water element with slide), and one of the largest high ropes adventure ropes courses in the Midwest called Summit Adventure.
