GO Threads

Welcome to GO Threads…a sustainability initiative of The Global Orphan Project. GO Threads sewing centers are small businesses located in extremely poor areas of the world. The centers create local jobs; produce quality clothing, including children’s school uniforms; and generate profits to help sustain orphan care costs. Turning tragedy into opportunity, a unique global partnership with a key U.S. partner drives GO Threads. That partner? YOU!

$20 (fully tax deductible) is all it takes to send an order for a child’s school uniform to a GO Threads sewing center. The uniforms will be produced and given to a child who desperately needs them. They will be hand-sewn by a local tailor whose job allows her to provide for her family. And your $20 purchase will also leave a profit to provide care for orphaned and abandoned children.

What’s in a uniform? More than meets the eye. In the third world a school uniform brings opportunity, dignity, and identity for children, tailors, and many more. Almost anyone in America can afford a $20 school uniform, but what would happen if we worked together? How many kids could we help go to school? How many jobs could we create? How many orphans would receive care? We are about to find out!
