GenerationEngage employs (fulltime) young social entrepreneurs who have a specific vision - and plan to achieve that vision - for the change they want to effect within a given community. We use innovative technology to make it cost-effective and efficient for young people and politicians to communicate in the places young people already hang out. We promote volunteerism, and make politics fun and social for young Americans.

This is a fabulous idea. I'm so thankful for facebook. If you want, there's a petition to make Election Day a National Holiday at:

It takes just a minute to sign it. I did. You can register anonymously too if privacy is an issue. And if you haven't carved your Halloween pumpkin yet, I created another link to get people to carve their pumpkins to get out the vote on Nov. 4th. A friend of mine did this in Ohio with his pumpkin, and the idea is so simple and appealing for us to help "light" up our neighborhoods.
