One of my best friends is gay, and he's very much out. Most people think that's all he is. I'm bi and I'm terrified of coming out because if i do i'll get the crap bullied out of me.

Just have a gay child and this becomes your cause. You realize that your kid was gay when they were 1 years old. Playing with opposite gender toys. Its all good. People need to realiize that normal is not what you think, its what is. people just trying to live their lives, trying find someone to care about them and fall in love, why cant people just live their own lives and not worry about what others do.

I am straight (I hate that term! It implies what? that homosexual people are crooked?), but I have friends and family that are. I also live in a town where people are either scared to look at homosexual people for fear they may be contagious, or they think they can whack them over the head with a bible a few times and fix it! Closed minded people are the enemy, not only of homosexuals, but of everyone else. To all the so called "christians" out there who say that we are not to take God's place as judge....please for once practice what you preach and leave people who have never done anything to you or even asked for your opinion to validate their lives ALONE!!!!

homophobia is a terrible thing...
people need to grow up and get over it! No excuse!
I'm so happy to join this cause, because even though in Britain we have aquired many rights in the last few years, i still believe there is a long way to go before homosexuality becomes more accepted in society.
Congratulations to the Top recruiters! and a big thank you to everyone who has joined the cause!
best wishes to you all!!

I don't understand any kind of discrimination - never will - so am joining this group with my good wishes and full support for anyone who has ever been bullied/harassed/affected in any way by bigots - in this case, those who are intolerant of homosexuality.

okay i dont really get homophobic bullied as im at college and it much more accepted there but you do get the odd boy saying look lesbians but that it. one thing that really pees me off tho is when guy say it okay for girls to be gay but guy its not im like there the same and then some guy go on its sick coz of the hole anal thing but straight couples do it so why is it so wrong for two guys to do it grrr it my one thing that pees me off the most about homophobia

I suffered a lot of homophobia at secondary school, I would like to thank the efforts of Stonewall and other anti bulling charities that really made me sane enough to finish my education, I have been physcologicly effected by this and still remain afraid of some things.
