What's Your Clean Water Cause?
In the past few months, we have been hearing from several of you about your creative fundraising ideas for causelife. There are no words to describe how exciting it is to see individuals, families, and communities empowered and determined to tackle the world water crisis together.
Here are some real life examples of the causelife community at work all over the country!
Events:
5K/10K Turkey Trot: Huntington Beach-Surf City, CA – Want to do Thanksgiving a little differently this year? One of our most dedicated causelife supporters is hosting this event with the goal of 1,000 runners, walkers, long-boarders, and skateboarders to provide 2,000 people clean water for 20 years! For more information or to register for the run, go to www.causelife.org/race.
Causelife Golf Tournament: Lynchburg, VA – On the opposite side of the country, causelife supporters are hitting the green for a day of fun, friendly competition, and clean water advocacy. Par for the course: To drill three deep bore wells in remote villages that have no access to clean water.
Projects
Not just any lemonade stand – You can never be too young to make a difference or to understand the need for clean water. Two young boys set up a lemonade stand this summer and sent all the proceeds (over $400) for water projects!
Doing good with style – Inspired by the call to action at the DoGood Conference in Atlanta this year, a group of high school students are now designing and selling t-shirts to promote awareness and raise funds for causelife.
A toy story – Remember as a child saving up for that special toy you wanted more than anything? Cody (10) and Austin (8) were pooling their funds to buy the ultimate Lego set. Instead, they came up with the idea to give it all toward providing clean water. Needless to say, their parents are very proud—and we are incredibly grateful.
We hope these stories encourage you to use your innovative ideas to benefit the 1 BILLION people on the planet still without clean water. No idea, project, or contribution is too small, so take ownership of your clean water cause!
