my 13 year old son has aspergers syndrome. it seems like all i do is fight, with the school for them to educate themselves on this condition, with my family to get them to understand that i'm not always on his case, but trying to teach him appropriate reactions, etc. he's very high functioning, but it's still a struggle everyday. my heart is with you all.

i found out in december that my 30 month old has mild autiism and i have been working dilligently to raise awareness for this cause since so little parents know about it and what to do or the warning signs. My son's my heart and i'd do anything for him so I feel this is my job as his dad to help out

i worked at a pathways pre school with autistic and other special needs children. i have seen them come a long way from the begining of the school year to the end. if you have a special needs child i HIGHLY recamend a early intervention program.

I have a little 10 year old brother who is autistic. I have had to cope and i feel i am getting better everyday. People at school make fun of him with out knowing the full extent of the problem. I want people to learn more about this subject and better themselves for it. I hope one day people will realize they are just like you and me except they take a little more work. They didnt want this, so why make it harder for them to live.

My son is 5 now... I didnt really know what autism was.. He was always crying and never wanted to eat or touch anything he never played with toys, and he always seemed sad. He went in for his 2 year checkup and the doctor said he was just behind in talking(No real concern) But when my son was 3 I had a baby girl, right away I could see a diffeence in them.. So I knew something was wrong. I started looking up autism and the signs. I remember crying watching the videos, I knew at that moment my son had autism and I was lost. Everything went through my mind( what did I do wrong). NOTHING.. I know thins now.. My son is a very bright boy who loves his computer and video games, he attends carriage house preschool for his autism and they have changed him so much he is talking and eats better and can even have a short conversation with you.. he still has alot of sensory problems, but thats something we deal with. My son now says I Love you mommy and thats the best gift ever.

I have a 12 year old son with Asperger's. He is in 7th grade and is really struggling in math. He receives 90's in every class but gets 50's or lower on his math tests. His frustration level in math is increasing. I am looking for some good resources so his teachers and I can help him develop his math skills. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
