Opera Boston does original and high-quality productions of unusual, under-served and new repertory. Our outreach and education programs reached over 7000 people this year. We aim to demonstrate convincingly that opera is a vital, relevant and contemporary art form for all people. Our rapid audience growth is evidence that we are catching on!

1. Opera Boston is a pioneer in programming new and unfamiliar repertory that can't easily be found elsewhere.

2. We present original, purpose-built productions tailored to our cast, theatre and audience.

3. Opera Boston brings to Boston audiences some of the world's greatest artists working in opera today.

4. Ticket sales cover less than 1/3 of our expenses.

5. We are a small, lean company with only 7 full time staff.
