Voices For Children

Let's provide an abused, neglected or abandoned child with a trained volunteer - a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) - to be that child's voice protecting their best interests in their foster home, in court, in school, and in the community with the ultimate goal of shortening the time the child spends in the foster system.

Make Valentine's Day special by giving the gift of love and concern to a child by helping fund a CASA with your donation to Voices for Children.

It costs $1,980 a year per child to recruit, train and support CASA volunteers. Together, we can help a child in San Diego's foster system.

Need more motivation? Consider these facts:
•140-160 children enter the foster care system each month
•On any given day, 5,000 children are dependents of the court
•Close to 40% of children in foster care are under the age of 5
•40% of former foster youth nationwide are homeless within one year of aging out of the system
•Only 50% of foster youth receive their high school diploma
•Former foster children studied recently in the Pacific Northwest had a higher rate of post-traumatic stress disorder than war veterans
