Nature Conservancy, Inc. (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit)

The Nature Conservancy is a global organization dedicated to protecting the lands and waters on which the diversity of life depends.

We envision a world where forest, grasslands, deserts, rivers and oceans are healthy; where the connection between natural systems and the quality of human life is valued; and where the places that sustain all life endure for future generations.

We are one of the world's largest private, non-profit, nongovernmental conservation organizations. Yet we operate at the local level, working in hundreds of communities on the ground to conserve natural diversity and sustain livelihoods.

Science is the foundation of all our work. Critical data on plants and animals and threats to their habitats help us determine what conservation actions to take and where to take them. Socio-economic and human development data help us frame solutions that meet the needs of people and nature.

We develop innovative tools and uncommon approaches to protect natural systems.

In all that we do, we seek common ground with others, often acting as the catalyst to create tangible, lasting conservation results.

Our 1-million-plus members have helped us protect more than 15 million acres of habitat in the United States and more than 102 million acres in Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia and the Pacific.

We currently manage 1,400 preserves, the largest system of private nature sanctuaries in the world.

I think a lot of our problem as well is that we resort all of our answers to solving problems to the financial aspect in the end. I don't think it is right that it should cost money to save and protect something that was once beautiful. If people could just help out without having to depend on finances, I think the world would be a better place and we would all be a lot less selfish and things would get accomplished.

Yes, and the new plan is to reduce human population in the next 30-40years!We should limit birth rate or do something about it like right now or we will use up all the natural resources and at the end, destroying the earth

We talk so much about the change rather than acting upon it. It is time to stop talking and start doing. Sometimes I can't help but wonder if things will ever change; perhaps when we are less selfish about ourselves and start seeing the world for what it is becoming.

We push animals around out of their natural environment as if it was never their home, we tear down the trees and pave the ground with cement as if it was never meaningful ground. It just makes me sad to see what we have done with our hands. It is time to mold something new, something better and save what we have left.

Nature is for everyone and if we want all these things to remain;the bounty we have had the opportunity to enjoy in our lifetime, we need to make serious changes to help preserve natures bounty so all the generations to follow can have the same vistas, mountains, waterfalls, glaciers, oceans, animals etc.

Mr. President, It's Time To Sign in Copenhagen

The fossil fuels industry is trampling global
warming legislation to secure profits, while we
the people are already experiencing the effects
of ever rising greenhouse gas emissions:
forest fires are raging,freshwater systems
are drying up, hurricanes are intensifying,
and ocean life is collapsing.

this is what im thinking right now
growing population of Humans=more need for food and energy =the need for more resources =messing with nature=mess up Earth

if we can cut down the human population to 2/3 of now in 30-40years it will probably make the earth live another few thousand years.
