Once we reach 10,000 members, every member will donate $100 for a total of $1 million to the SENS Foundation for the development of medical therapies to defeat age related disease and disability. Learn More
I signed up and asked 150 friends to join. You too can join and in fight to reduce age-related disease or fight for people living longer, healthier lives.
I signed up AND asked all of my friends to join this most important cause today. Best of luck to Aubrey de Grey in accomplishing his and our goals -- really among the best and most noble that I can imagine. This is one of the best possible causes to join. The diseases of old age and dying sucks. Longer, higher quality lives (without or lessened ravages of age)...what is there not to like?
I ask any of my friends reading this to join this cause and publicise it. We're all in this boat together. Row well, and live!
We are on the threshold of an age for the ageless. Think of the remarkable accomplishments that could have been and could yet be if the great doers of our world could continue to do. Think of what you could do with time on your side. Thank you Aubrey!
Together, we can make this a model Crowdfunding initiative. http://bit.ly/crowdfunding To extend the reach, please consider RT the link http://bit.ly/100bux_10k_tweeps TIA!

Thanks to everyone who left comments on the site in support of the Foundation's work!
Not directly related to SENS, but topical and interesting... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090...
only a few days left -- we are in the lead for now. Come on guys, support Aubrey and SENS in this competition - just add a comment about why you support them

Meanwhile, a few big guys are talking about some stupid trillion dollar plans.
So despairing...
UH. Chris .. why do you keep asking the same question in every group when it's already been answered?
create your own group and make your case for funding your employer, instead of being a troll in all the SENS groups.
Hi Chris, I'll reply here as well.
Thanks for your questions. We want to help the SENS Foundation achieve its mission as soon as possible, but we aren't directly affiliated with it. The SENS Foundation are, of course, working on increasingly detailed financial and strategic plans, and their associated reporting and communications aspects, as one would expect of any organization at their stage of development. However, their schedule and communications channels are not driven by our FB Cause, which is an independent effort rather than a direct element of their fundraising. Also, we're not expecting to reach our target membership next week, so there's plenty of time to watch the Foundation develop.
Cheers,
David
I asked another version of this question at the more ambitious group trying to raise $100 million, but I'll ask again here: What's the plan for the $1 million? Is the SENS foundation involved in this drive? Are they prepared to receive and allocate the funds?
@Etienne
Since this cause is not about transhumanism and prefers to concentrate on funding SENS research to defeat aging, I've had to remove the links you posted. From now on, the Media Board will be closed to member posts as it should have been from the beginning (we've neglected to enable this option in the Admin Center). Thank you for your understanding.
I'm happy to see the membership going steadily up :D
