Also, as many of you have likely heard about in the news or from others, a terrible crisis has come upon Haiti today in the form of a 7.0+ earthquake which has left large portions of Haiti's impoverished population dead, dying, homeless, and without the basic needs required for survival. While ECTA does not have a presence in Haiti yet, our thoughts and prayers go out to those who have been affected, and it is our sincere hope that whatever we, and you, can do to help alleviate the suffering of the Haitian people, that together as a community we will do so. If you are looking for a way to directly support Haitian humanitarian efforts, please consider Partners In Health (www.pih.org), an organization whom I have been personally impressed with on many levels and who will undoubtedly be working in the midst of this disaster.

Additionally, many of you have likely already received a message regarding the launch of our new website (same address - www.ecta-international.org), but just in case you haven't - our new website is launched! As the 'new year' becomes 'this year' we would invite you to read more about ECTA's story (all journal entries from 2004 onwards can be viewed under the 'Journal' section) and to be a part of the chapter's in ECTA's story that are yet unwritten. Special thanks go out to Lora Smith, our amazing volunteer who has dedicated her time to designing and publishing this website for us utilizing her own skills and resources.
