Seattle Urban Academy is a small, private Christian school that serves at-risk students in the Ranier Valley (south east Seattle).
Our students are predominately minority and are substantially behind in earning credit for high school graduation due to a multitude of risk factors including poverty, abandonment, neglect, exposure to extreme violence, substance abuse, teenage pregnancy, delinquency and truancy. Most students live with a single parent, grandparent or guardian; and are the first in their familial history to graduate from high school.
Our highly educated and caring staff invests in the "whole student" by providing accountability, spiritual development, life skills training, and strong academics. Our 10:1 student to teacher ratio gives students the personal attention that they desperately need.
NASS rates SUA as one of the most effective schools of its kind. Graduation rates for seniors are consistently near 100% each year.
