Promoting animal welfare, in areas such as abuse prevention and responsible animal care.
Offering foster care programs for animals with special medical or behavioral problems.
Educating children, civic groups and the community about humane treatment of animals and related issues such as spaying and neutering.
Serving as a community resource for animal-related questions and issues.
The Humane Society of Pulaski County is the primary agency of its kind in the state. Though their resources are limited, they receive hundreds of calls each year from individuals and agencies throughout the state reporting abuse. They provide information and advice because they don't have the resources to always respond more fully.
HSPC exists to rescue abused, neglected, injured and abandoned animals. That animals are victims of incredible cruelty is a tragedy and the horror of abuse is increasing every day. Abuse investigation and prosecution, securing animals from abusive owners and, in particular, providing necessary medical treatment and care are terribly expensive efforts.
Last year alone, the costs of medical treatment of abused and injured animals that HSPC rescued soared to over $50,000! Donations to thier emergency medical fund were just over $5,000. They receive no city, county or state funds to help them in this effort and are now faced with tough decisons. Without your support, they cannot continue to rescue abused and injured animals.
Without your support, those who abuse will walk away without prosecution. Without your support there will be no second chances.
Ways you can help:
Make a donation to help them care for the animals, to maintain their abuse/rescue program and to provide emergency medical treatment.
Serve as a foster home to animals that have been abused, neglected, injured or abandoned.
Give these animals a second chance by opening your home and your heart by adopting.
Thank you for helping give abused animals a second chance at life!
