To help improve the quality of life for those children in the care of Dianjiang Social Welfare Institute who have not yet found their Forever Families

in 2003, Dianjiang Kids International began to help the children remoining at Dianjiang Welfare INstitute in Chongqing, China. DKI raised awareness and garnered sponsors for children in foster care at Dianjiang and in Spring 2006 began Gracie's Room. There, 15 children were cared for daily by five nanies, hired and trained by DJI. CCAI supported our work and provided the training for our employees. After two years and more than 50 children had passed through the Gracie's Room porgram, all children either adopted and home with their families or in foster care, Gracie's Room at Dianjiang closed. Fewer children were being abadoned and all orphans at Dianjiang were now being placed with foster famiilies.
Dianjiang Kids knew there was still a need so they began a Gracie's Room project in XinXiang, Henan. There, special needs babies are cared for in Gracie's Room in a loving one nanny to three baby ratio. They are thriving in this program and we are thrilled to see these children being adopted and going home to their forever families.
Currently DJI sponsors 25 children in foster care at Dianjiang and 15 children in Gracie's Room at XinXiang.
