Catherine Prowse's comment below is a common and feeble one. I hate to break it to you Catherine but there is plenty of evidence. Not to mention thousands of historians and linguists that make a living from researching and preserving it. It's just Westminster (for at least 50 years) have done all in their power to keep it out of the English curriculum.
what is with the flag??? why can't we just have a st piran up there? at last its easily recognisable as the true cornish flag.......sort it out!!!!!
by the way if anyone has a spare st piran's flag i'm currently looking for one to decorate my new house in new zealand........we have a tri-nation house (cornish, irish & kiwi) & the only flag we're missing so far is st piran!!
As a resident of West Wivelshire ( and yes that is still in cornwall) I agree that the Cornish Nation should be free of English government and self governing. How many English counties have Shires within themselves. Kernow has 9 Shires within itself (Devon is 1 Shire) If anyone can find proof that cornwall was officially and legally incorperated into England I'm sure the government would love to have it as as far as I know they have not found it yet.

I'm a bit confused by the flag too, it seems to crop up in Cornish independence. I tried to look it up on the internet but even though I found info on St. Piran's flag and various other Cornish symbols, I couldn't find where this flag comes from, does anyone know?

Um, Cornwall was never it's own country. And there is no evidence to support that. As any historical evidence is flawed or been proven otherwise, any amount of research you can do will say 'Cornwall was never an independent country'. Sorry to put a downer on it.

agreed with lauren on the flag, wouldnt want to be mixed up with americans now, its bad enough being called english, please change to the true St. Pirans flag or at least the Kernow coat of arms.

Someone want to explain the flag that was used for the picture? Its not St. Piran's cross; in fact it looks like the US Confederate battle flag combined with a black Cross of St. Andrew....

'County' is a purely administrative title for the purposes of implementing delegated legislation from Westminster and has only been this way since the Local Government Act 1888. Prior to this Cornwall was divided into counties of its own - called Kevrangow or 'Hundreds', for example St Agnes was in Pydarshire
