About Tammy D. Martin Trips, Dreams and Memories Foundation

Providing trips and/or dreams to families where one parent is facing a life-threatening illness.

Providing trips and/or dreams to families where one parent is facing a life-threatening illness.

Tammy D. Martin lost her battle with cancer at the age of 38. She left behind two young children, a loving husband and a devastated extended family. In the final months of her life, Tammy wanted to enjoy one final family vacation. Unfortunately, the medical bills piled up fast, preventing her from going when she was still healthy enough. By the time the family could afford to go, her illness had progressed to the point she was no longer able to go. Our family established the foundation in hopes that we can afford other families the chance to realize their dreams when facing a similar situation. We wish that all children could have a chance to make lasting memories with their parents that have nothing to do with doctor visits, medications, and hospitals. These positive memories will help carry them through the grieving process should they lose their parent. We are trying to provide this chance, one family at a time.

1. When parents are ill, children often become caregivers. These are the final memories these children have of their parent.

2. Parents facing life-threatening illnesses would often like to take their children on a vacation as respite, but can rarely afford to.
