I'm pleased to share some exciting news – after an extensive and thoughtful process, Silicon Valley Education Foundation is proud to announce a new strategic vision for ensuring students leave public school ready for success in post-secondary education, be it career technical education, community college, or university study.
This new vision has led to a re-alignment of our organization that allows us to pursue large initiatives in STEM, English Language Arts, and Pre-K. This gives us the ability to affect bigger changes in education – from increasing the percentage of high school graduates who are prepared to complete post-secondary education, to providing resources for the community, schools and teachers, to being the leading advocate for Silicon Valley public education.
These changes are only possible because of a strong team leading the charge. We have a highly talented management team with diverse backgrounds in business, government and education:
Advocacy and Thought Leadership: Manny Barbara
Development and Marketing: Brian Kaplan
Partnerships, Strategy and Technology: James Otieno
STEM Education: Karen Nicholson
Pre-K: Rene Ramirez
Finance and Human Resources: Jerry Mullaney
Journalist in Residence: John Fensterwald
English Language Arts: TBD

We will be holding a briefing in September to share our strategy in more detail. In the meantime, we welcome you to join us in this new endeavor and would love to hear your feedback. Click here to provide comments about our new vision, strategy and leadership team.
Sincerely,

Maybe you could take a 'peek' into what's happening to our son? He's in Silicon Valley's largest district. He's a third grader, disabled and is being illegally denied an education. He has been an innocent victim of the 'district' for 2 yrs. He is "Not Allowed" (per the school district) to attend any school in his district. Today is day # sixty-two that he's being hurt, affected by discrimination. The 'district' refuses to follow Ca. Ed. laws & to speak with parents- and there's so much more..you will not believe this one. Please visit the cause, here's the link-hope it works! thank you :] http://apps.facebook.com/causes/...
